so in my coast through the holidays, i completely forgot about my self challenge to lose 20 lbs by my birthday. turns out wednesday was the halfway mark, and i'm 1.4 lbs above where i was hoping to be by this point... just another reason to get my ass in gear :p so with classes coming up, it's all about scheduling, including food. i've gotten so bad about what i eat so i'm putting it all in my planner as a "to do" along with the working out. to start, my days will include:
15-20 min of activity
eat one apple
eat one salad
eat one cooked veggie
drink four glasses of water
every two weeks i am going to try to reintroduce something from the good health guidelines (GHGs) to my diet. this week (if you couldn't tell), i'm focusing on:
activity - because i only work out once a week at this point. i want to stretch it out across the week, even if i can't do it everyday. plus my wii fit mii has fallen asleep, which is completely unacceptable
fruits/veggies - because i stopped eating as much when my favorite fruits went out of season. i'm still not a huge fan of veggies, but they're growing on me. so i'm mixing it up with a few raw and a few mixed veggies to start
water - because it's another good habit i've dropped. i'm starting with four and working my way up to six. i know the GHG is eight glasses of "liquid", but i tend to drink a lot of milk. it's almost guaranteed that i'll get two liquids in that way so i want to fill in the others with water... plus more water = more peeing (let's be honest), which means more bathroom trips and more steps in my day
looking over the GHGs, i think i picked the three hardest things for me to accomplish. oh well. once i get through these, the rest shouldn't be so bad :)
